Delayed wound healing in a large sutureless myocardial infarction in a child.
This article reports a case of a 27-year-old woman with suspected Kawasaki disease who presented to the emergency department with a rapidly enlarging mediastinal mass that was initially diagnosed as a pericardial effusion. Tc-sestamibi cardiac imaging subsequently revealed a sutureless myocardial infarction in the lateral wall of the left ventricle. There was also extensive activity in the liver and kidneys that could represent inflammation or ischemia. Because of concern for a malignant etiology, a pericardiocentesis was performed with subsequent drain placement. The patient’s clinical course was complicated by a wound dehiscence of the mediastinal drain site that required reintervention. This article demonstrates the importance of prompt recognition of signs and symptoms of myocardial infarction in children.Link between self-reported pain and physical activity among Korean elders.
The purposes of this study were: (1) to examine the relationship between health-related quality of life and self-reported pain in Korean elders; (2) to examine the relationship between subjective health perception and self-reported pain in Korean elders; and (3) to determine whether self-reported pain was related to physical activity in these elders. Data were collected from 972 elderly people who participated in the Elderly Public Health Survey, a national health survey in Korea. The mean age of the participants was 67.6 years, 49.8% of whom were men. Self-reported pain was significantly related to body mass index, functional status, and health-related quality of life. Self-reported pain was also significantly related to subjective health perception, and self-reported pain was negatively related to physical activity. Our findings suggest that greater attention should be paid to self-reported pain among Korean elders. only say “under (the) policy,” then everyone has what they want. But it’s not like that’s a surprise. Everyone knew the game was changing.
So the whole thing strikes me as another attempt to put more money in the pocket of Democratic politicians, and after that, to find something to give to “their” side, and make the next campaign cycle all about something, anything, that the other party was against.
This is how every election has been for the last 40 years. But this time, the stakes are higher, perhaps
