Now that the ‘Age of Ashes’ Adventure Path is complete, there are once again creatures to fight on the planes, the heathen city of Zan to explore, and now an Adventure Path to choose from! Additionally, the first of four Realms of Elemental Evil Adventure Paths continues!These adventures are formatted to work with PFRPG 2, allowing the use of a variety of mechanics as you explore the world of Golarion. Combat continues to be a fluid affair for the PCs, as they weave and weave between enemies to cause as much harm as possible in this fast-paced game. At the heart of every encounter are the challenges and opportunities presented to the players in finding the most direct paths through the encounter, taking advantage of the combat advantage that you are granted, and deciding how you can best present the challenge of defeating the enemy. Though not all encounters present opportunities for player to strike, even in combat, the world of Golarion is a rich place for exploration, and this Adventure Path includes ways to allow your players to search out and take advantage of those opportunities. The adventure path is published as a series of adventures, each published separately, so you can choose which adventure to run for your group. Many of the adventures are designed to run with the adventures from the ‘Age of Ashes’ Adventure Path (at level 9), though they can work great from the beginning of the game. What does that mean? Is she having an affair? Does she need my help?
This is the beginning of my “day 3” project, if you will. It’s the first of three parts, each of which constitutes the Delilah arc. I intend to explore some less familiar territory.
Lately my Nights of Love sessions are rather self-focused, and I wanted to try a different approach for a while. The result is something like “Fantasy Ghosts.” It’s not meant to be taken seriously, but there is some pathos to the character who is in way over his head. I’m not sure you want to play him, unless you like tough challenges like rescuing an armless young girl from a mechwarpensary, or inventing a medi-gelixir from extremely limited materials.
“Delilah needs a friend,” (and this is why she needs a HEALING medkit.)
Alternately, you may want to spook the hell out of your players.
Delilah’s story is pretty much tied to the Development Capital Zone. As a metaphorical “scene” of uncertainty and change, she is isolated, uninvited, and unwelcome. As a “being,” she is cast out, denied, and rejected. It’s tough to get an invitation inside the walls. When you do, your company isn’t welcome, and if you survive the encounter, you’re still not sure what will happen next.
I thought this might be a lot of fun for children. Delilah is an archetypal ghost, and a surprisingly rewarding or scary character if you ask me. The megawarpensary below isn’t pleasant. The trogmouse with the bunch of keys, and the giant metal spanners are standing guard over the wraithlike man, while he washes things in chemicals and mechanics – and that’s before the flash floods sweep his lab into the arms of the Valley’s underground sewer system.
Also in this story, I want to acknowledge my neighborhood neighbors, and those who know them. The megawarpensary below didn’t exist on Wednesday, just like this phantom is someplace else that might or might not exist.
