A case from our own Circuit Court, United States v. Hayes, 794 F.2d 1348 (9th Cir. 1986), illustrates this point. In Hayes, the defendant was observed selling drugs at a house. A narcotics dog indicated that narcotics were present. A police officer entered the house and located a green box and a magazine box. The magazines were from the same firearms magazine company and had the same serial numbers. It was later determined that both were stolen. The search warrant for the house was based on the contents of the magazines, not on the house. The boxes were seized and were not returned to the owner for some six months. At this time, the officer discovered that the burglary victims had numbers also. He sent the boxes to a pawn shop and the victims were later released.

THQ clarified to Polygon that the reason for only testing the code on Xbox Live was because they were trying to test it on the Xbox 360, not the Xbox One. However, theres no word on what the cost will be if you buy the game used or rent it. As of the date of this story, its not clear whether the retailers THQ is speaking to for EA Sports UFC 2009 are authorized to sell Xbox Live codes. According to a THQ representative, the company is working to clarify the situation with the retailers, and we may update the article if that happens.

THQ spokesperson Jeremy Pugh confirmed to Polygon that EA Sports UFC 2009 is the only version of the game that will work with the code. Regardless, the code will work with all versions of the game, and theres no need to purchase multiple codes.

An EA Sports representative told Polygon that EA has tested the code on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. The code is available for all EA Sports titles, including Madden NFL 11 and FIFA 11. Pugh confirms that EA Sports UFC 2009, Madden NFL 10, FIFA 10 and FIFA 11 will all work with the code.

On May 4, according to a blog entry on GAF, there was a recent Xbox Live event at which footage from a new UFC Undisputed 2010 game was shown, along with some other games. Unfortunately, that footage has since disappeared from the internet, so we dont know much more about it right now, except that it may or may not be for sale on Xbox Live.
As for The Xbox serial keys,they will be randomly generated for all of the installed consoles, and their average generation time will be no more than one minute. Due to the nature of a game that is distributed via retail, those games are not eligible for any discounts or promotions, excluding the Games with Gold program.
The codes for the Xbox series of games can only be redeemed on the console they were given to. If you purchased the game used on a different console, the serial code cannot be redeemed on the Xbox 360.
They then discovered that the camera had been stolen. If the police had detected the camera, however, as soon as they recognized it to be stolen and as soon as they knew its serial number, they should have confiscated it immediately. Instead, they first “improperly” examined it and searched for its serial number. Had they seen that the camera was stolen, they would have been obliged to conduct a search of the house’s entire contents for the camera, even though they had no reason for believing that the camera had been stolen. This is exactly what the Supreme Court rejected.
It is not disputed that Kiehn, as an individual, had no reasonable expectation of privacy in the serial number of this camera. It was attached to the camera so that the camera could be identified at some future time as being the camera that Kiehn had sold to the store. It was available to anyone who lawfully acquired the camera, and Kiehn’s ownership of the camera is of no consequence. Unit A Oct. 1981) (listing factors to consider in determining whether an individual has a reasonable expectation of privacy in property that would not show a violation of the Fourth Amendment).
