Shell Execute is a simple command line tool that will allow you to launch executables or documents based on their file extension.
Similar to the built-in START command, but in addition to normal, minimized and maximized you can also launch apps hidden. Use ‘ShellExecute /?’ to view the syntax.
An argument of /? displays this syntax and returns 1. A successful completion will return 0.

/prompt [/*args]
To execute the program specified by the given text, with the
arguments specified by the argument vectors. If the program is not
found, ShellExecute returns error code 127, and the program is not
executed.
/h, /help
Displays the usage information of ShellExecute.
/min, /max
By default, ShellExecute does not minimize your active window
while the program is running, but instead it launches a new
window and puts the program in that window. In order to get
ShellExecute to minimize your active window (or your active
app) while the program is running, use the /min command-line
argument.
/&
Executes the program while the current foreground window is
the desktop window (or application window). The program cannot
be the foreground window, which means that it cannot receive
input. It is a basic system-level task.
/c, /close
Close a window that ShellExecute has created.
/c, /callshellclose
If the program being executed returns 1, then close the
window that was created by ShellExecute. If the program does
not return 1, ShellExecute returns 1.
Example:
Save, close and run.

Although not particularly practical in this day and age to be offering support for a deprecated and unsafe technology that (in my opinion) doesn’t really bring anything useful to the table.

Ask HN: Whom should I contact, regarding open source project? – vstrayer
I have a very small and simple open source project that I’d like to add a feature to. It’s a Python script that, given a twitter API key and a twitter account, allows you to run a twitter search (with an optional search-term).It would be super-easy to write a wrapper around it. I just don’t know where to start. From what I read, this kind of thing is best done by combining various pieces into a bigger package. My guess is that
