On April 12, 2020, the Syracuse University Community lost a beloved colleague, friend, and brother in law, Thomas F. Shanahan, who has been a member of the Syracuse University Community since 1998. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I’ve worked with Tom for many years on our comprehensive campaign, which was met with success on Election Day last year.

Tom was universally loved and respected by faculty, students, staff, and alumni, and his leadership and vision will be greatly missed by the Syracuse University community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tom’s family and friends at this time.
