General use
Users create 2D drafting layouts by drawing, editing, and/or annotating an X, Y coordinate system. A drawing contains geometric objects that are created, edited, or annotated using the commands of a drawing program. AutoCAD can be installed on any version of Windows operating system. For example, a 3D version is available for Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista, but is also available as an optional feature for Windows 7 Professional and later. Starting with AutoCAD 2007, the 64-bit version of AutoCAD is available for Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. AutoCAD LT runs on Windows XP only.
