The shape of NPs was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The size and zeta potential were determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The stability of the particle suspensions was monitored by measurements of the particle size distribution using DLS. The main focus was placed on two different PEG-lipid systems and the impact of particle shape on the encapsulation efficiency (EE) of the Q-tris-Cu particles. In general, the EE of star-shaped copper NPs was higher than that of nonstar-shaped ones. There was no correlation between the EE of Q-tris-Cu and the shape of NPs. The size distribution of the particles in the two PEG-lipid systems was very narrow. The size of the PEG-lipid vesicles in the buffer was only slightly larger than the NP size. The stability of the dendrimer suspension was good. A rapid release of the Q-tris-Cu NPs from the liposomes was observed. The stability of copper NPs in the two PEG-lipid systems was similar.
