Penelope is the open source version of Eudora.
The penelope Thunderbird extension adds changes to the Thunderbird UI to provide a familiar UI for Eudora users.
Many of the Eudora shortcuts are also supported including functionality not offered in Thunderbird.

Installation Instructions:
1. Install penelope
2. Copy “penelope.py” to the extension directory. (i.e. the “user profile/plugin directory)
3. Copy the penelope/lang.py directory to the thunderbird “locales” directory (i.e. “user profiles/dir/locale”)
4. Copy the penelope/lang.xlf file to the thunderbird “locales” directory
5. Copy the penelope/thunderbird.py file to the thunderbird “plugin” directory
6. Re-start Thunderbird and install penelope
7. Enjoy!!

Penelope Thunderbird is an extension that adds Thunderbird to Eudora.
Penelope Thunderbird is not mandatory but it provides much needed functionality that helps make all those documents feel familiar.
NOTE: This extension is currently in development and will continue to be updated. Please use at your own risk.
Details:
Installation:
1. Install the extension from the penelope_thunderbird_3.0a2.tar.gz file in the penelope directory
2. Launch Thunderbird
3. Click the Tools menu select “Plugins”
4. Select “penelope thunderbird”
5. Click the “Install” button
6. Click “Reload”
7. Restart Thunderbird
Please allow up to 24 hours for the extension to install.
Configuration:
To configure, select it from Thunderbird Tools.
Note that this is a hosted version of the extension and the penelope extension comes with some major changes that will not be
worked on.
