to be fair, there is much more to serious sam than action, and to compensate for this lack, many extra modes have been added, including classics like free running, as well as short-cuts to the main hub, the museum. sams big eye, complete with its own path, has been spruced up a bit as well, and now the two can be found at the end of each level. the most interesting addition though is that sam now has a fully functioning map editor, and it is one of the best of the year (0.4.0). this means that not only you can make your own levels, but also podders that enemies randomly spawn in and can be captured. all levels and maps can be exported to windows, mac, linux, android, ios and playstation 4. in addition to that, there is a modding community thriving on the official serious sam 4 website, with tons of community-made maps, items and weapons.

with this in mind, serious sam 4 is not just a game in itself, but even more an important keystone in the series legacy. its a perfect companion to the old games and to hellfighter, which have each their own strengths and weaknesses, and through sam 4, share a common history, look and feel. granted, the game is not without its faults, and some would argue it goes a bit too far to mimic other games, but it doesnt matter much, what matters is that it manages to stand as an entertaining, beautiful, brutal game in its own right. it takes the series in an unfamiliar direction, but it also adds much-needed depth to the world.

the perfect ps4 budget game is ride the lightning, a rpg where lightning, a lightning bolt that is being controlled by a player, goes on a quest to restore the destruction of gods lightning being scattered throughout the land of man. thats a very simplistic description, but its just how ride the lightning started out. we were impressed by the early release of ride the lightning to the public for ps4 in late 2019 by developer oiganic games.

With the release of the Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass version, the campaign received a thorough boost in both features and length. Not only does it feature a plethora of new enemies and weapons, but there are also many new items, locations, and environments to explore in addition to a more challenging difficulty in the challenging sections. Bigger bosses, such as the Lichenstein and Scragspider, have also appeared. Besides the multitude of things to explore, there are now four endings to the campaign. The original game has only one. The Campaign takes place on the planet Badass, where a facility has gotten into orbit and a syndicate of Solgen clones is using it to transport a powerful device to the Inner Radios. The player must enter the facility to regain control of it and stop the operation.
The soundtrack has been remastered and features orchestral scoring. There are also new Stereo 7, Ambisonic and 5.1 surround sound tracks for all the music. The soundtrack also features soundtrack composer Andrew Vloet from the original Serious Sam series. There are also a couple of new tracks by Vloet himself.
Unfortunately, we could not find a minimum Stadia requirements list for the game yet. The recommended PC specs state that the minimum is an AMD R9 290 graphics card and a AMD or NVIDIA iGPU in addition to a 32 GB RAM. The minimum Ryzen CPU is an R5 240 or higher. The audio in Serious Sam 4 is similar to that of The First Encounter, with the music encompassing a more sophisticated blend of drum-heavy techno combined with string-based orchestral pieces. It serves the game well, and also reminded me of Sams home planet of Universe, as it has a slightly sci-fi feel to it. But the game does not use Sams theme over its soundtrack, something I am glad to see, as I think that since the first game, series composer David Fox has managed to improve the soundtrack.
