hi, thanks for the article. i have used the wicreset utility to reset ink settings on my epson printer. the problem is that i am not able to find the registry node hkey_local_machine. i am running windows 7. please help.

ok, i got to the point where i think i can now reset my printer. i have to apologize, though, because there was a problem in the windows 7 version. when i wanted to press enter to start the process, the screen appeared to be frozen and i could not move the mouse cursor. it did not say anything. so i closed down wic reset utility. i re-opened it and started the process again. this time it started correctly. the only change is that i have to log on as an administrator.
i could not find any microsoft installation dvd for windows 7. i found a microsoft cd, but it didn’t work. i had to use the windows dvd which contained the wic reset utility. i hope this helps someone.
