the film is beautifully shot with excellent cinematography and editing. however, the story is choppy and not as smooth as it could be. it starts with the most dramatic scene but immediately after that it shifts to a bland love story. veer’s meeting with saamiya siddiqui is a mere rehash of their earlier meeting in a hospital twenty two years ago and we hardly get a glimpse of the life he led in 22 years after his release from pakistan prison.
there is an interlude in the movie where veer travels to pakistan to meet his parents and we see saamiya’s mother talking about how veer used to sell prasad at the bus stand and she would get rs. 5 for rs. 2 and often she would buy two prasad, but there was no one else to share the burden of this job. we see veer selling prasad again, but this time it is for rs. 10 a box, and we see his secret weapon which is a large metal box which he picks up a stone and shatters all his customers, and they are left with nothing and leave him alone. these scenes which show us how veer used to sell prasad and saamiya’s mother’s reaction to it makes us feel bad for veer, but they are only a few scenes in the film and the film goes on to show us the romance of veer and saamiya.
