Failed to find the RootViewController
I’m trying to retrieve data from the application settings. I have a rootViewController that is a UITabBarController and I have a Tab Bar Controller in the rootViewController.
The problem is when I try to retrieve the application settings I get this exception:

It’s like it doesn’t recognize that the RootViewController is a UITabBarController.

Recap: Upper Echelon Men’s League 5.2.12
The Echelon Men’s Senior League continues to roll on. It
was a great year of hockey, including great matchups, highlights, and
players. After just two rounds of games were played last week the top 6
teams are sorted into their first-round brackets for the playoffs.
The scoring has been
fast-paced all year long as the teams jockey for positioning, but one
team has really gotten a leg up as of late: Central Michigan. They won
the regular-season crown (as well as their final home game of the
season) in decisive fashion over Flint Hills of Mpls at the Ice Arena
in Lansing. The Mariners’ lineup was led by Ian Bruce with a hat-trick of
goals while the defensemen and netminder both scored. Tom Curtis
followed up his initial win last week with another stellar showing
against Flint Hills to keep his hopes of running into Central Michigan
alive. Curtis has 11 goals, 7 assists, and a plus-16 rating to lead the
league. He has his work cut out for him as he is matched up against
Kenneth Awalt and Dominic LaRocque, two of the top players in the
division and are two very different styles of players. Awalt is
supposed to be the electric scorer in the league and was a force last
week with his game-winning goal against Flint Hills, but Curtis will
have to stay out of the box and outsmart him all night long to pull
out a win. Awalt has 15 goals, 9 assists, and a plus-17 rating while
LaRocque has a plus-26 rating and is an excellent defensive player.
Curtis won’t be the only CMU player on the ice as
Matt Schlegel, their leading scorer, will play for Flint Hills on Tuesday
night. While Curtis has the advantage of being the division leader with
the most points he’s still a step behind the rest of the league as he
hasn’t scored more than 3 goals all year.
